Ok, guys, just wondering what's happening for this and who's going to be teaching, driving, etc.

Once again (sorry, guys, really sorry!) I can't make training. Once again going home to things that were pre-arranged before term started. So, I'll need someone to cover for my job again. Ally, if you don't mind covering me and are able to make training, you're first on my list as you did an excellent job last time. *much hugs*

Hi all, I am sure that it's pretty clear anyway, but I'm calling off training due to rain. Even if tomorrow came out glorious with sun, the ground would be too treacherous to train on. Sorry for the let down, if anyone has ideas for/the initiative to find us a cheap or free indoor space where we can train then let us know! :)

Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it.

I second Adam's decision, If it's not too wet, it will be too windy for archery anyway so training is cancelled, however there will be some social something for those who've nothing better to do with their sunday like me! Will post later this evening with details and will try to facebook everyone as well in case they don't read this!

Hey, guys! You live in Britain, you must be used to such kind of weather and not bother with it :(, there is no point in doing training sessions once in a month!
I was thinking...isn't it possible to book some place in Talybont? As to an official University club it should be available?

People have been loooking in to indoor training but I believe there are issues with not being part of the athletics union for booking space in Talybont, in any event most places probably wouldn't give permission to do archery indoors, so it would be combat only sessions.

As for tomorrow, we will be meeting for lunch in Central Bar at 12.30 so if you would like to come along, it would be great to see you there. Otherwise pub on thursday and hopefully another training session soon.

Can't be there, I'm afraid, my project just decided that today would be a good day to give me as many error messages as possible.

Talybont and sports facilities are problematic because as said we are not AU.
Union was an option for some forms of training but as Mary explain in another thread other societies have taken priority for the spaces, and those sessions that can be booked have been booked, but they are not until later on. None available now unfortunatly. :(

"Indoor training for the academic year 09/10 was looked into in May/June of this year. It was recognised that Nov-March is the worst time for training weather-wise and inquiries into indoor training were made. 4 dates were available and all of those were booked. 1 has since been overridden. All are in Feb/March.

Unfortunately, the only suitable Union venue that we have been able to investigate so far is the Great Hall. During Nov/Dec it is booked out for Panto rehersals (these get priority over us). During Jan and May it is taken up with exams. Many other weekends are taken up with gigs (and even if there is no Sunday gig, often a Friday or Saturday gig will require a Sunday takedown).

Perhaps the new Combat & Archery Officers could, after the AGM, investigate the possibility of hiring out local halls? I and/or my sucessor can look into lobbying the Union over using Talybont for free (as the sports clubs do)."

It's been thought of and kicked about many times!
